Project Server is much more than simply a software solution. For Organisations with project oriented people and established project disciplines in place Project Server has the potential to significantly improve project delivery by making coompliance with standards more rigorous, by promoting "best of breed" approaches to project planning and by making access to information available on demand and in real time to anyone with a need to know, from the intern team member up to the CEO.

This release of the Microsoft Project Server 2007 EPM solution builds upon the experiences and feedback of users of the 2002 and 2003 versions of the tool. It is now more closely integrated with SharePoint to further support the collaboration and communication amongst project stakeholders that is a key ingredient in the success of any project of significance.

Reporting and analysis are significantly improved with the introduction of 14 separate OLAP Data Cubes, reporting on issues and risks across projects, programmes and portoflios is now elegantly supported by the solution.

Microsoft® Office Project Server 2007 serves as the technology platform for workgroup environments when used with Microsoft Office Project Standard 2007 and for Enterprise environments when used with Microsoft Office Project Professional 2007. Through its Microsoft Office Project Web Access interface, Microsoft Office Project Server makes it easy for team members and stakeholders to collaborate and access project information using only a Web browser. Microsoft Office Project Server also provides the security, scalability and flexibility to adhere to a company's business processes and systems as project and resource management demands increase.

Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 is the companion server product for Microsoft Office Project 2007 Standard and Microsoft Office Project 2007 Professional. Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 stores project and resource information in a central database, thereby enabling standardized, consistent project planning and reporting across an organization. A member of the .NET Enterprise Server family, Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 provides the scalability and security to adhere to a company's business processes and systems as project and resource management demands increase.

Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 extends project information to team members and stakeholders through the Microsoft Office Project Web Access interface. Using just a Web browser, each team member or stakeholder with a Microsoft Office Project Server Client Access License (CAL) can access project information from Microsoft Project Server without having Microsoft Office Project Standard or Microsoft Office Project Professional installed on their computer.
